Melissa Leandro was born on September 20, 1989 in Miami, Florida. Originally from Costa Rica, she grew up with her mother Ana, her father Carlos, and her older sister Melanie. Melissa attended New World school of the arts high school in Downtown Miami. She currently attends The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her artistic pursuits focus mainly on photography, video installation, and experimenting with compositional design. Melissa’s artwork shows a willingness to experiment with abstract shapes, color theory, pattern usage, and repetition.
